Bernie moved to Fayetteville from Rochester in 2019 and began receiving meals from MOMWEOC. When asked about the meals, Bernie says he loves all our dishes, and he feels like “we prepare meals just for him.” He loves the portion sizes, assortment and taste of the food as well as the convenience since he can’t go shopping or prepare meals for himself. His favorite foods include vegetables and the ravioli.
Bernie loves the food we make him so much that he takes a picture of each meal and shares it with his friends. He tells everyone about our Home Delivered Meals program and how it has positively impacted his life. His primary doctor even told him whatever he is doing with food to keep it up, as he has lost 40lbs since he started the program.
Bernie looks forward to seeing the drivers and getting his food daily and describes them as “PRECIOUS”.
Every volunteer is very personable and friendly, and they go above and beyond by bringing his food into his home for him. He also feels that the volunteers and staff are an extended family.
He once called to speak to Amanda, his case manager, about transportation being a challenge. She helped solve the issue by finding him a resource to help him and give him a piece of mind. He utilizes the programs GoGoGrandparents and Call-A-Bus for his transportation needs. He no longer has to worry about how he gets to his appointments or if there is an emergency.
Bernie can’t say enough good things about MOWEOC. He loves the cards and cookie he gets on his birthday, as well as the presents at Christmas time.
He is so thankful for all the caring he gets from MOWEOC.
